Smart Sam Neuenschwander
Although summer has come to an end and the colors of the leaves are slowly morphing into beauty, Human On A Stick Segway Tours remain open until November 15, 2020, or until there’s snow or ice on the ground.
That being said, another week of Segway tours means another week to honor one of our excellent tour guides. This week’s guide is just as old as the Segway tours.
Sam Neuenschwander, son of Human On A Stick Owner Bill Neuenschwander, has Segways in his blood. In fact, Neuenschwander was the youngest staff to ride a Segway–– he first rode one at one years old.
“The one year old Segway rider rumor is true, it’s just not as cool as it sounds,” says Neuenschwander. “I was just sitting on the Segway pad between your feet, and my dad pushed me around with the handle bars.”
Young Neuenschwander grew up in Bloomington, MN and is currently a senior at Minnetonka High School. His college plan is to “find one and graduate from it.”
In addition to being a helper guide on Segway tours, this summer he’s taken on more responsibilities through his role with our Six Foot Bubble™ socially-distanced, walking tours.
Neuenschwander explains his ‘claim to fame’ is that he edited and pieced together all the audio narrative, sound effects, and music together for Six Foot Bubble™ Tours’ audio element.
“My favorite part about working on tours is when you add something and it really makes it spark, like the music at the Minneapolis Walker Sculpture Garden, or the sound effects at Irvine Park,” says Neuenschwander.
Other than audio production, he also enjoys archery, camping, snowboarding, movies and food.
